Happy Happy Weekend

Monday, September 26, 2011

We had such a happy weekend.
So much to be grateful for.
Robert came home on Friday night.
Luckily a few of his buddies rode with him
so he didn't have to drive 4 hours alone.
(it's nice to have friends at the same college from home)
I'm sure he would have been fine but the mama in me is still getting use
to this college stuff.
Can I tell you how awesome it was waking up Saturday morning to everyone
in their own bed.  Bella was even more excited that she woke up in Robert's bed.
That furry little buddy misses him.
It is such a good feeling to see him doing so well and looking so good.
The highlight of the weekend was the four of us going to mass together.
That's still the hardest part for me - just when I think I'm doing fine,
Sunday Mass rolls around and I get weepy again.
Not this time.....Mass and out to dinner with the four of us made my heart happy.
Steve did the dad thing and added washer fluid to his car, filled it up with gas and help him wax it.
I stood there looking out the window watching and caught myself smiling.
Of course we had my parents over for a huge brunch which is Robert's favorite gathering.
And it wouldn't be brunch without grandma's grits.
Sunday came pretty quickly but I'll take a short weekend visit anytime.
Was able to give him a great big hug and happy send off with a trunk full of groceries.
Our weekend ended with me giving my favorite girl a pedicure and doing our nails.
Then packing Steve for a trip with clients to Key West (tough job).
So the boys are gone and it's just the four of us girls this week.
Savannah and the two furry ones and I think I'm okay with it.
I just love my little family.

Our weekend in pics from Pinterest.  The slow cooker breakfast casserole was delicious.  If you haven't tried it you should.  I put everything in the slow cooker, went to bed and woke up to an awesome smelling kitchen and a fabulous breakfast.

Guess Whose Coming Home

Guess whose coming home for the weekend?
Yep, my favorite boy!
Guess whose a happy mamma?
Yep, me!

A little welcome home treat on his bed.
Sorry for the bad pic - it's my phone camera.

Blessings to you and your families blogger friends.

Breakfast

Is 5:00 p.m. to early to have on your pajamas?
Not at our house.....not when breakfast is being served for dinner.
Here was the menu:

Oh and I only wish I looked like this in my PJ's. ;)

Friendship

Monday, September 19, 2011

Yesterday was a special day for Savannah
Starting high last year was a new beginning for her
She left a school that she had attended since the 4 year old program
Moving on to a high school where none of her friends or classmates were going
Thankfully she had a smooth transition
Made lots of new friends
Stayed in touch with old friends
And one year ago today became best buddies with Sydney
How do I know that?  The following pictures will explain.
Savannah is a cheerleader
Sydney is a volleyball player
They are different as day and night
But have developed a special friendship that makes my heart happy
Savannah cheers for the football team that Sydney's boyfriend plays on and we make as many of Syd's volleyball matches as possible
They are currently discussing homecoming dresses, how will Sydney's boyfriend ask her to go and who will be Savannah's date -
Here's a little sneak peak into our day.
Syd came over while Savannah was at cheer practice and decorated Savannah's room.
Balloons, streamers, candy and notes.

A friend is one who strengthens you with prayers, blesses you with love and encourages you with hope.

One thing we all need to learn is balance.
I think my girl is doing an excellent job of balancing life.

A real sweetheart.

No talking Tuesday.

So let's just say that today is:
"No Talking Tuesday"

Enough not said!

Love is in the air.

I love weddings.
And new love.
And happy couples.
Steve and I went to a beautiful wedding Saturday night.
The setting was beautiful.
And so was the bride.

The above two pics were taken from my phone.

The above two pics were borrowed from the brides FB page.
Photo Booth Pics - The new wedding craze!
Had a hard time scanning these but they were fun and wanted to share.

May love fill your air today.

Three Cheers for Savannah

Friday, September 9, 2011

I love my girls laugh
I also love her smile
She truly laughs from the belly
She is such a bright spot in mellow times
Football season is back and will certainly keep us busy
Last night was her first game as captain and she did a rocking job.
This morning was a 7am pep rally - televised on our local TV news
because our school had the most votes for the "Prep" game of the week
Tonight is the varsity game and all the cheerleaders will be participating and
will showcase our "youth campers" from the Youth Camp this summer.
Tomorrow I think we shall sleep all day.

Hope your weekend full of bell laughs and smiles.

Shine

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

This new chapter of my life is tough.
Still feeling the mama blues of missing my favorite boy.
After a little trial and error, he is finding his way.
Had his car towed this past weekend.
Books arrived just the day before he needed them.
He is being as patient as possible with mama text.
And seems to be adjusting pretty darn well.
I always thought as my kids got older that I would worry less.
Not the case.
I'm just trying to give it to God.
To believe that this is where God wants him.
Even if it is 4 hours away.
I took a long walk around my yard this past weekend.
In talking with God I noticed the sun shining in every possible inch of my yard.
A sign?
That Robert is going to shine?
I think so.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isaiah 60:1

Out of Sorts - kinda.

Saturday, September 3, 2011

It's been a mellow, out of sorts kinda day around here :(

Need a little more of this and a little less of pinterest, facebook and blogger.

Amen.
