A little Fall Decor

Thursday, September 27, 2012

I've decided that it could take a while to cool off
so I did a little Fall/Halloween decorating
with the air turned way down low
it was 95 degrees out today
and yes, I'm complaining

I'm not buying real pumpkins
until the weather cools down
or Halloween gets here
whichever comes first

I'm so jealous of all the blogs
posting pics of their beautiful front porches
with real pumpkins
corn stalks and such
my hydrangeas are still blooming
they think it's still summer
and I have to admit they are beautiful

Here's a little peek at some of my
Fall/Halloween decor.

I did decorate my front door with a fall wreath and some mums

I made these EEK letters last year,
they are actually really cute,
however, I can't get them to photograph well

 Mixing Halloween and Fall

 My Pottery Barn Halloween Tree
I've had it for 19 years
Purchased it the year Robert was born

These little glitter buckets from Target this year are adorable
It's not photographing too well either
but each bucket is glitter  - they go perfectly on these glitter plates that I already had

Glitter bones from last year also - just tied together with some cute ribbon

Downloaded these cute labels from Martha Stewart

 Love these mean little pumpkins
$1 for all three at the Thrift Store - Score!

And this cute little sign is also full of glitter
from Target - removed the hanger and added the same cute ribbon

Don't you just love the dollar section at Target?

So, hopefully in the next few week I can
add some real pumpkins and the rest of my fall decor.

Slow Week

Sunday, September 23, 2012

So this week was slow
not sure why
I only lost 1 pound
total of 9 now
I have added more free weights to my workout
so hoping I built a little muscle

this weekend proved to be a little challenging
football game, birthday party and baking with my nieces
but I did good
only had one cookie
going to work that baby off today

that's the one I had right there
after all it was calling my NAME

Happy Sunday friends.

Goodbye 6 lbs.

I'm happy to report in that I've been on my
healthy eating and exercising routine for
a week and a half
and I'm down 6 pounds
I know most is just water weight
but I'm pretty happy with my progress

I've been making a Body by Vi shake every morning
Lunch is either egg whites with veggies,
salad, or baked chicken.
Dinner has consisted pretty much the same
I did make some really good Body by Vi waffles
in my Belgium waffle maker
found a recipe online and changed it to my liking
the waffle had 249 calories including the sugar free syrup
and it was yummy.  I posted the recipe a few days ago.

I have been riding my exercise bike for 1 hour every day
and I have been working out on the mat
crunches, jumping jacks, leg lift, burpies, hoola hoop
and even turned on the 80's channel and danced
like a rock star a few times.

I've also started each morning with a glass of water with lemon and orange slices
In addition I have tried to drink 6 to 8 waters daily

I think I'm on the right track to healthy.

So, this time I'm determined

Set a goal

"Shed 20"

Started a new eating and workout routine

Body by Vi

The shakes are not bad
especially when you add fruit
There are so many things you can do with the powder
breakfast, lunch or dinner
I'm just sticking to the shakes for the first week or so
Two shakes a day, veggies and fruit for snack and one healthy meal

I've started riding my exercise bike for 1 hour per day
planks, sit ups, crunches and leg lifts

Drinking 8 glasses of water per day

I should have started this before summer,
not before winter,
buy hey - I guess anytime is a good time to start
I'm going to take it one day at a time
I have a BIG birthday coming up next May and
this mama wants to be healthy and in shape.
Wish me luck :)
